Program Description

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is on the move with a $2.5 billion plan that calls for expansion into the 2020s. Some of the major projects currently underway or starting soon include the addition of more gates, a wider road in front of the terminal, a taller control tower, a longer runway, a bigger terminal lobby and other improvements.

So what does this growth and airport expansion mean for the City of Charlotte, future buyers and sellers and the local economy?

Join Charlotte Douglas International Airport Aviation Director Brent Cagle and American Airlines Regional Director of Government Affairs Tracy Montross for an update on the construction progress and important information about the future impact of one of the world's busiest airports. Brian Cox, a member of the Airport Community Roundtable, will also be part of the panel.

Brent Cagle serves as the aviation director of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Prior to this appointment he was the assistant aviation director of administration and finance at CLT where he oversaw the aviation department's accounting functions as well as the development and management of the annual operating budget. He came to the position with more than 20 years of experience in municipal government and nine years of aviation experience serving in various financial and aviation positions.

Tracy Montross joined American Airlines as the regional director of government affairs in January 2014. While based in Charlotte, Montross serves as the airline's representative in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky and Tennessee. She is responsible for developing and executing regulatory and legislative proposals that may affect the company's business operations. From 2011 to 2013, Montross served as chief of staff for the mayor's office in Charlotte, where she supported both Anthony Foxx and Patsy Kinsey on local, state and national issues.
